In this class the participant will be provided with an in-depth review of the skills attendant to the
duties of a Fire Inspector. The student will learn the minimum tasks required of a Fire Inspector.
Included in this program are research, interpretation of codes, implementing policy, testifying at
legal proceedings, creating forms and job aids, code enforcement inspections and analysis of new
and existing structures and properties for construction, occupancy, fire protection and exposures.
In this class the participant will also be provided with instruction in means of egress for place of
assembly, plans review, code change process, inspection checklist development, evacuation
planning, fire flow, LPG and Hazmat. The course involves extensive student interaction and
practical application of inspection principles through class exercises and inspection exercises
required by NFPA 1031 – Inspector I/II (2003).
