Since training is an essential factor in efficient firefighting and is dependent upon well prepared
instructors, fire service instructor training becomes a very important responsibility of the fire
department. The material contained in this course provides the information called for by the Board
of Personnel Standards and Education for Instructor. It also meets NFPA Standard 1041 for Fire
Instructor II & III.

This course will require the student to do a homework project in the same manner as the National
Fire Academy courses. The project will consist of a video showing the student’s instructional
techniques and corresponding paperwork.

Prerequisite:

Student shall be certified as a Fire Instructor I.
